Not every adapter is the same. Therefore, we evaluate in a comprehensible way instead of in a general way.
01 | Adapter type & construction size
The adapter family, dimensions, and design form the technical basis for the evaluation. Larger or more complex systems may have a higher potential.
02 | Number of needles & contact points
Test pins and sleeves possess a tangible residual value potential. The contact density therefore forms part of the overall evaluation.
03 | Technical complexity
Design, mechanical components, standard and special parts, as well as the structural complexity are taken into account.
04 | Condition & Reuse
Completeness, wear and the condition of the material determine which components can be reused or materialized in a sustainable way.

Benefits & Participation
The program turns unused ATX or third-party adapters into a comprehensible return process. After testing, a trade-in bonus for a new automation product (from the eLine series) can be generated. At the same time, suitable components can be reused or materials can be sorted for recycling.
The return of used ATX adapters and third-party adapters is provided for. Whether a specific adapter is eligible for participation is evaluated in advance based on product data, images, condition, and technical verifiability.
The standard case is the connection with a new product in the automation sector. Returns without a direct new purchase are reviewed as a special case. The specific calculation must be agreed in writing in advance.
The bonus is not fixed. It is based on adapter type, age, completeness, condition, reusability, and testing effort. A preliminary assessment is made based on the submitted information and photos; the final evaluation is made after technical inspection.
No. The preliminary assessment is an indication based on customer data and images. The value becomes binding only when ATX has inspected the adapter actually received and confirmed its condition.
Evaluation & photo documentation
At least five meaningful images are required: the front, back, left side, right side, and close-up shots of the license plate, connectors, and any existing damage. The product must be fully visible, sharp, and well-lit.
Items or project numbers, serial numbers, year of manufacture, last use, known defects, modifications, missing parts, and a contact person for technical questions are helpful.
ATX specifically requests the missing information. As long as essential data is missing, no reliable preliminary assessment can be made.
Photos do not always show hidden damage, missing components, worn-out contacts, or technical deviations. If the actual condition differs from the information provided, the assessment will be adjusted and explained transparently.
Shipping & Inspection
Shipping method, packaging, and costs are specified in the respective offer. Shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Before shipping, the pickup address, contact person, labeling, and transport-safe packaging should be confirmed in writing.
The adapter must be protected against shocks, slipping, and moisture. Moving parts must be secured, contact surfaces must be covered, and accessories must be clearly assigned. Pre-assessment does not apply for transport damage caused by insufficient packaging.
The processing time depends on quantity, condition, and the technical inspection requirements. ATX provides a realistic timeframe after receipt and review. Larger returns will be planned separately.
Basically, yes. For larger quantities, a preliminary list with product details and statuses is recommended. ATX can derive from this a consolidated inspection, logistics, and commercial processing. Please note that you can only submit one adapter via the form, however.
The adapters are tested and classified according to the agreed process. Suitable components can be reused technically, while other materials are recycled in accordance with regulations. Product-specific details are clarified on a case-by-case basis.
Re-use, confidentiality & conditions
Reusable components should only be used after a technical review and under the internal quality standards established. If refurbished materials are relevant for a customer project, communication about them must be clear and understandable.
Before returning the product, the customer should remove confidential documents, data carriers, and any unnecessary markings. ATX treats project-related information as confidential. Special requirements for removal or destruction must be agreed upon in writing in advance.
The procedure for rejecting the final assessment will be agreed upon before shipment. This includes a return deadline, shipping costs, and the handling of any testing or dismantling work that has already begun.
A combination is not automatically provided; project prices, special conditions, and further discounts are subject to commercial review. The written agreement in the offer or order is decisive.
Depending on the process that has been approved, the settlement can take the form of a project-specific discount, credit, or voucher, for example. The specific variant will be clearly documented before the completion of the transaction.
The relevant ATX sales representative coordinates the process and, if necessary, involves engineering, service, logistics, and accounting. This way, the customer has a single point of contact and clearly documented next steps.
